Lion John Joy

Lion John is originally from India, but has lived in the US almost 40 years, He graduated from Bombay University.

Since joining Irving DFW Indian Lions Club in 2000, John has served in all positions including Club President.  He is Involved with District 2-X1 under different titles: District Convention Chair, District Tail Twister, Zone Chair, Executive Council President and  served on committees with Sight & Tissue, Sports Extravaganza and is serving on the Global Leadership Team.

He is very actively involved with fundraising efforts for his club-sponsored Primary Care Clinic for the uninsured in Lewisville & Plano which as a monthly budget of over $50,000.

Lion John has attended the International Convention in Denver, Emerging Lions Leadership Forum, Senior Lions Leadership Forum in Chicago, and recently the Texas Lion Trainer Development Workshop.

In appreciation of John Joy’s involvement in Lionism, he was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship, a  Jack Wiech Fellowship,  the William .  Harris Award,  Texas Lions Foundation Award and Appreciation Awards from several District Governors.

Lion John enjoys life in Carrollron  with his partner Alice and their 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
